Over in Belgium, national team supporters are still reeling from the news that Radja Nainggolan won't be attending the 2018 World Cup. Considered a national hero, Nainggolan has been ignored by former Wigan and Everton boss Roberto Martinez in favour of other midfielders like Axel Witsel and Youri Tielemans.

The 30-year-old Roma midfielder has never appeared at a World Cup but has always been a highly impressive player. Martinez defended his decision by saying that Nainggolan didn't fit in with his tactical plans, but fans, and the player, have been very disappointed with the news, with Nainggolan going on to announce his retirement from international football.

The Roma man, who has played 30 times and scored 6 goals for his country, is probably wondering what else he needed to do to get in the squad. Widely-considered one of the best all-round midfielders in Europe, Nainggolan is coming off the back of another solid domestic season in which he helped his club to a Champions League semi-final, contributing with 6 goals in all competitions and some excellent performances.
