Signed from Aberdeen in 1991 for just shy of £1 million, David Robertson was an absolute steal for the Light Blues. For The Dons, Robertson had been a vital part of the side, and the feeling was that he'd progress even further as a player under Walter Smith at Ibrox. That proved to be the case, and he became a wonderful left back for the club. Never afraid to get forward, Robertson was a deceptively skillful player too. It wasn't uncommon to see him playing intricate one-two passing sequences with his team mates, opening up the wider areas of the park. During his tenure at Rangers, David Robertson also scored 15 goals, a fine tally for a defender. Even though he was part of the squad that captured 9 Scottish League Titles in a row, the defender is often forgotten when fans discuss the best left backs to ever grace Ibrox. That's a shame, because he contributed immensely to an incredibly successful decade for the Gers, and that deserves to be recognised.
