10 Darkest Days In Alan Pardew's Newcastle United Career

3. Newcastle 3-0 Sunderland

Date: 14th April 2013 As if tempting fate, Alan Pardew said in his programme notes that he hoped Sunderland would stay up having battled relegation for a significant chunk of the season. Inevitably, thanks to the 3 points Paolo Di Canio stole out of his opposite number's back pocket the Black Cats did just that. Aside from a wrongly chalked-off Cisse goal, Newcastle never looked at the races against their hungrier, fitter looking opponents and were inevitably caught with their pants down as Di Canio gleefully ruined his on the touchline. In the fall-out, Newcastle fans rioted, one punched a horse and Alan Pardew hilariously claimed that the team had "looked a little bit tired in our minds". So apparently he's a psychic now.
