We all remember THAT video. Albert Luque was supposed to be brilliant. Unfortunately the Spanish forward fell victim to the St James' Park curse and his natural finishing ability, skills and pace seemed to have been left on the baggage conveyor at La Coruna Airport. Luque was sold to Newcastle United for a fee of £9 million, signing a five-year contract. He made his debut against Manchester United at St James' Park, which included having a goal ruled out for offside. However, in his next game, he suffered a hamstring injury while playing against Fulham; upon his return he was used in a number of roles, including left midfielder, failing to live up to his large price tag. He never recovered from his move to Tyneside and moves to Ajax and Malaga have saw Luque score just 13 goals since leaving Tyneside. He had scored 75 goals prior to the move...
