6. New DC United Stadium

As the MLS continues to grow in stature thanks to high-profile players choosing to end their careers stateside, DC United are set to move to a brand new stadium and have set their sights on moving into their new home by 2018. With the ground set to hold 20,000-25,000 fans, it is part of regeneration proposals for the Buzzard Point area which were agreed in 2015. Currently, DCU play their home fixtures at RFK Stadium, but with a capacity of over 45,000, the MLS side are hoping that a more compact home will provide an electric atmosphere in order to help build a fortress for the club.
