2. Federico Macheda
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT8gIJ5_354 The pass from Giggs, the turn and strike from Macheda, the voice-break from Martin Tyler - the goal had everything. If Federico Macheda achieves nothing else in his career - and its looking increasingly likely with each passing year - he will always have that wonderful moment of ecstasy to look back on and cherish for the rest of his days. The Red Devils were in danger of chucking away what should have been a sewn-up league title - close challengers Liverpool had blown open the race with a 4-1 demolition derby at Old Trafford, before the wheels began to come off at Craven Cottage as they lost 2-0 to Fulham. Further dropped points against Aston Villa would have been nightmarish. Having battled back from 2-1 down to level matters through a long-range drive from Cristiano Ronaldo, the champions poured forward in search of that elusive winning goal to get their title surge back on course. 17 year old Italian striker Macheda had been drafted in from the reserve side following a midweek hattrick against Newcastle United, and in a last-ditch effort Ferguson emptied his attacking options from the bench, thus granting the youngster his debut in the process. Whilst hardly anybody in the stadium knew his name prior to kick-off, they were certainly chanting it at the full-time whistle as he turned his marker to unleash a sumptuous curling effort in off Brad Friedels post in the dying seconds. Cue pandemonium. The Italian teenager would go on to grab another late winner against Sunderland the following week, but that was as good as it got for the Italian youngster during his time at Old Trafford. Still - theyll be playing that goal against Villa on Premier League Top 50 Moments shows for years to come
