If anyone needs a window into the fury that Louis van Gaal was no doubt feeling after the 4-0 humiliation at MK Dons in late August, all they have to do is see how many of those players are still at the club. With a host of youngsters who started that day still waiting to get another opportunity to show their worth, the likes of Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell were all shuffled out the door during the following three days. Another to experience the cull was one Javier Hernandez, a cult hero at Old Trafford, likened to Ole Gunnar Solksjaer for his goalscoring habit from the bench. However, the Mexican international had been lamenting his lack of starting roles for the club in recent times, and having plundered just four league goals last term, the writing was on the wall with regards to his long-term future. On loan at Real Madrid this season, Hernandez has essentially taken the role of last years substitute Alvaro Morata, and has not found game-time any easier to come by. While his loan deal probably wont be made permanent at the Santiago Bernabeu, one cant imagine that he would be too happy with returning to a club where he will likely be a fourth-choice striker. Clearly un-fancied by van Gaal, Old Trafford has probably seen the last of the one dubbed Chicarito. So that's a wrap - what do you think?
