When Tim Krul was out injured before Christmas, Newcastle fans were longing for the Dutch goalkeeper's return - but he has failed to live up to the high expectations he has set himself in the nine years previously since his comeback. Although the defence must also take their portion of the blame, Krul has kept just two clean sheets in the 17 matches since he returned to the Magpies starting line-up - and he looks like another player who may have set his sights on pastures new. With Karl Darlow due to arrive from Nottingham Forest permanently in the summer, and Rob Elliot still on the books for now, Newcastle may even be willing to cash in on Krul if they do remain in the Premier League - although the Dutch international's value has surely plummeted this season.
