9. Pepe - Ten Games
Andres Kudacki/AP/Press Association ImagesFans of Spanish football will be aware of Pepe's famous erraticness, and now the world knows a little more after his World Cup came to an abrupt end last month after he was sent off for an altercation with Germany's Thomas Muller in the opening game of their campaign. To say the least, his liability and temper is well noted. Back in 2009, Pepe picked up an astonishing ten-match ban for a pretty disgraceful incident with several Getafe players during a La Liga match. First, the Real Madrid defender was sent off for hauling down Javier Casquero as the last man, and received a straight red card for his actions. At that point, most footballers would leave the field holding their hands up, but not Pepe who instead decided to kick Casquero twice (once in the leg, and once in the back) to vent his frustration at being sent off, somewhat ironically. Naturally, a melee broke out, but Pepe wasn't done with Casquero, pushing his head into the turf and then stamping on him numerous times before deciding to punch Juan Angel Albin in the face for good measure as he left the field, just to round off his actions. For all that, some may say a ten-match ban is a bit light.
