With the game at the King Power Stadium long-since finished at 3-0 and already into injury-time, Daryl Janmaat - for reasons only he can understand - decided to lunge in on Leicester's Jamie Vardy and receive a second yellow card, reducing the Magpies to just nine men. The Dutch international has probably been Newcastle's player of the season, but he now looks disinterested and his sending off appeared to suggest he is not interested in fighting to keep the Magpies in the Premier League. Janmaat has also commented in the last 24 hours about his desire to one day return to Holland - proving he is not fully focused on the task in hand. Carver looked extremely angry with Janmaat as the Dutchman walked off the pitch on Saturday - and was probably referring to his right-back as one of the "soft touches". In fact, Carver said he asked Tim Krul to speak with Janmaat because the head coach "knows what he's like" - suggesting little faith in the right-back's temperament.
