Arsenal Transfers: 10 Players Wenger Should Have Signed

3. Cesc Fabregas

Three games in the blue and four assists already; the numbers speak for themselves. You could hear the sobs of the Arsenal fans as Cesc Fabregas set-up Andre Schurrle against Burnley with an assist that will struggle to be bettered by anyone this season. Arsene Wenger worked so hard to have the first-option clause inserted into any deal with Barcelona and yet, despite the Spanish international being available this summer and wanting a return to north London, Le Professeur rejected Cesc. The Arsenal gaffer€™s reasoning was that he had Mesut Ozil and also didn€™t want to hinder Aaron Ramsey€™s remarkably quick growth into a world-class player. They€™re lovely sentiments but sometimes you€™ve got to forget sense and logic in football and just go crazy. With Cesc Fabregas and Mesut Ozil in the same side, the assist extraordinaires, even Yaya Sanogo would have an Arsenal goal or two to his name. Arsenal€™s self inflicted loss is Chelsea€™s gain €“ a gain that will more than likely result in the Premier League crown returning to Stamford Bridge.
