10 Players Who Didn't Fulfil Their Potential At Man City

6. Jo

27 year old Jo falls into the same category as Robinho in that he is another Brazilian striker that failed to make an impact in Manchester. Having impressed at CSKA Moscow, scoring at an average over 0.5 goals per game, Jo joined Manchester City before Robinho in 2008 for £18 million, a club record at that time. In his three seasons at City he made just 21 league appearances, scoring one solitary goal. Due to competition for places and poor performances, he was twice loaned to Everton and once to Galatasaray during his stint at City. He is now at Atletico Mineiro in Brazil where he seems to have settled and is performing okay. However, neither for club nor country has he been able to recreate the form he had at CSKA Moscow and no one can provide a definitive answer as to why. He clearly has plenty of talent and even made appearances for Brazil at this year's World Cup, but whilst at Manchester City he looked languid and overall a poor striker. At a value of one league goal per £18 million Jo's move to City can be seen as a disaster for both the player and the club.
