Truly a Geordie cult hero, and one who will rightfully be remembered with the same nostalgic affection as the likes of Nobby Solano, Laurent Robert and Olivier Bernard, Spider-Man needs to hang up his mask. In six years of valuable service, since he came in from Real Mallorca in 2008, the man truly extracted every last morsel of energy and dedicated it to the club. It feels like eons ago when we witnessed a young and sprightly Argentine jumping into the forays of Old Trafford for his debut, terrorising Patrice Evra with his lung-busting runs and dazzling trickery. Since then he has served the club well, and will never be forgotten for sticking with the side following the club's pitiful slide into the Championship. After all, he had only been with living in Tyneside for a year when that happened - it would have been so easy to depart for an easier life. However, the time has surely come to say goodbye. His legs have gone, as surely proven by the fact that he couldnt get into a doomed Norwich City side last season. Gutierrez, who was once a cornerstone in the Argentine XI, will leave with Geordie fans blessings, and will be welcomed back with open arms for the rest of his life.
