10 Players Who Probably Regret Joining Leeds United
1. Tomas Brolin
Having starred for Parma between 1990 and 1995, Leeds United supporters thought that they were getting a new star when Tomas Brolin moved to Yorkshire but his time at Elland Road quickly descended into a farce.
His first couple of months were solid enough as he netted in victories over Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United but a disagreement with Howard Wilkinson over his defensive duties was the beginning of the end to his time at the club.
He made 12 more appearances that season and even featured in the League Cup final defeat to Aston Villa but he never scored another goal or added anything of note in the final third as Leeds finished that campaign in 13th position - eight places lower than their previous two efforts of fifth.
Brolin's last game for Leeds would come on April 13, 1996 - just six months after he had penned a two-and-a-half year deal. He would spend the next year on loan at FC Zurich and Parma before his contract was finally terminated eight months before it was due to expire in the summer of 1998.
The Swedish attacker would retire from football less than a year later at the age of 28.
