Manchester United have a long line of players whose personalities as much as playing abilities electrified Old Trafford. Superstar names such as Eric Cantona, George Best, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo have become synonymous with the club.  The type of players that excite every time they touch the ball. 

Journalists used to hang on King Eric's every word. His famous quote about seagulls is still referred to now; as recently as last year Actor Shia LaBeouf stormed out of a press conference after quoting the Frenchman's line. Considering how little it actually meant, that says something about the magic and mythology of the man.

Manchester City haven't quite been able to attract the same kind of footballer. You could argue the case for Mario Balotelli, but a team will only put up with that type of behaviour if it doesn't get in the way of what said player does on the pitch. It's fair to say Super Mario hasn't yet fulfilled his significant potential.
