Spurs signed Rohan Ricketts when he was nineteen years old in 2002 from Arsenals youth set-up. For the club to have raided their bitter North London rivals for a young player must have meant they valued him highly. Ricketts went on the perform quite well at White Hart Lane until 2005, making thirty league appearances, scoring one goal and, at one stage, even being considered for an England call-up - but it all went horribly wrong for the midfielder. He was loaned out to Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers before being moved on to Wolves on a permanent basis. Then, after having failed to truly make the grade at Molineux, he was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers. At that point, he truly fell into obscurity. He went on to play for Barnsley, Toronto F.C. in Canada, Diósgyri VTK in Hungary, F.C. Dacia Chiinu in Moldova, S.V. Wilhelmshaven in a German regional league, Shamrock Rovers in Ireland, Exeter City back in England, Dempo S.C. in India, Club Deportivo Quevedo in Ecuador and PTT Rayong F.C. in Thailand. He is now without a club, having failed to impress even at those sides. He's still only 31 years old, but is as far away from his potential England call-up ten years ago as he could possibly be.
