10 Strangest Ever Manchester United Signings

1. Bebe

The first being that United manager at the time Sir Alex Ferguson had never seen the forward play a single game before sanctioning the move, instead trusting the advice of his then-assistant manager Carlos Queiroz. Claims soon surfaced that the relatively unknown striker had been homeless prior to his move to United, and it was falsely claimed that he played the Homeless World Cup. But that's not even the strangest part of this transfer. Instead of signing Bebe, who has gone on to flounder at United, being loaned out three times to date, the Reds could have got James Rodriguez, star of the 2014 World Cup, instead. But they decided to "pursue other options", that option being Bebe.
