Louis Van Gaal appears to be the pick of the board but it is vital that the club are one hundred percent behind the potential new manager. There were many reasons that it did not work with David Moyes at the helm but what the club certainly dont need is to adopt a sacking culture that reflects much of the modern game. Van Gaal is likely to be a hugely influential transitionary manager who lays the groundwork ahead of a long Ryan Giggs era as manager. The club and management need clarity on what their goals and expectations are as well as identifying a reasonable length of time for Van Gaal to restructure the team. Anyone who knows the history of Louis Van Gaal knows that he is not the silent, obedient type and his signing on at the club will be from the understanding that he will be given the support and time needed. He has the ability to change it round, but the board need to be sure on his leadership.
