7. Maxi Rodriguez (vs Chelsea, 2011)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GPNnW8zfhY Maxi Rodriguez owes a low to Fernando Torres. Had it not been for the fact Torres was playing against former club Liverpool for the first time since completing his then-British transfer record £50 million move from Chelsea, Rodriguez would surely have made all of the headlines in the morning papers thanks to this shocker. As it was, the Torres sideshow helped this one glide mostly under the radar - though thanks to YouTube, Maxi didn't get away COMPLETELY Scott free. Here we see Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard send in an inviting cross that bobbles across the face of goal, wrong-footing a series of Chelsea defenders and leaving goalkeeper Petr Cech in no man's land. You'd be forgiven for thinking this was an easy tap-in for Maxi - and that's because it was. As the ball approached him unmarked on the far post and onside, Rodriguez made the critical mistake of leaning backwards, and his effort subsequently sailed over the bar. His blushes were spared in the end at least as Raul Meireles's 69th minute strike gave the Reds a 1-0 win.
