4. Didier Drogba's Offside Goal, 2010
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDbog7nj47g Manchester United have been the beneficiaries of a number of shocking refereeing decisions down the years, and so it is refreshing, perhaps even karmic, to relive this incident at Old Trafford in 2010. United and Chelsea were tussling it out for the title in early April when the Red Devils entertained the Blues, and Didier Drogba all-but clinched his side the Premier League with his 79th minute winner - from an OFFSIDE position. Drogba was clearly offside. You didn't even need to see a replay. Salomon Kalou's pass cut the United defence wide open but found the Ivorian striker a shade ahead of the Red's defence. However, neither referee Mike Dean nor his assistants spotted the infringement as the Chelsea man buried his effort past Edwin van der Saar to give his side a crucial 2-0 lead. United set up a grandstand finish when Federico Macheda reduced the deficit moments later, and even this goal was dubious as the Italian appeared to handle the ball before scoring. Nevertheless, Chelsea hung on to win the controversial clash and Dean's mistake proved enormously costly as they would march on to title glory that year, much to Sir Alex Ferguson's eternal fury.
