11 Potential Inaugural Premier League Hall Of Fame Inductees
1. Alan Shearer
Unquestionably the greatest striker in Premier League history, it seems almost certain that Alan Shearer has his name on one of the two inaugural Hall of Fame spots.
Alan Shearer started his professional football journey outside of the Premier League in 1988 with Southampton, before the concept of the Premier League had even been considered. Alan Shearer signed for Blackburn Rovers in 1992 and achieved one of the greatest goal/game ratios a player has ever achieved for a club. In 138 appearances, Shearer scored a phenomenal 112 goals, helping Blackburn to a stunning Premier League title victory in 1995.
Shearer joined Newcastle United in 1996, spending ten seasons at the club and scoring a further 148 goals. Shearer holds the record for most Premier League goals of all time at 260 and is one of just two players to surpass the 200 goals mark. Shearer's accolades continue as he has the joint highest total of hat-tricks in Premier League history (11) and is Newcastle United's all-time top goalscorer.
If anyone is worthy of the first Hall of Fame spot, it's surely Shearer.
