16 Newcastle Players You Won't Believe Are Seasoned Internationals

11. Craig Moore - 52 Australia Caps

Newcastle United: 2005-07 Position: Centre-Back Nationality: Australian Premier League Appearances: 31 Premier League Goals: 0 International Caps (Goals): 52 (3) When Craig Moore signed for Newcastle on a free transfer from Rangers in 2005, the centre-back came with a big reputation - but any slight pace he might have once had at his disposal had well and truly evaporated by that point. During his 31 league appearances for the Magpies over two seasons, the Australian struggled to cope with the speed of the Premier League and he did not show anything like his best form on Tyneside. The 6ft 1in centre-back was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2008 but thankfully received the all-clear not long after. It may come as a surprise to Newcastle supporters that Moore collated more than a half-century of international caps given his Magpies form, but in his Rangers days he was seen as an extremely-able defender.
