A painter and decorator by trade away from the park, most Rangers fans wouldn't even trust Ian Black to give the walls at Ibrox a fresh coat of blue. Woefully untalented and suffering from an attitude problem that makes David Templeton look like Lionel Messi by comparison, the fact Black was relied upon to carry the engine room of the Rangers midfield perhaps says it all about Ally McCoist's tenure as manager. Signed in 2012, some pointed to the fact he'd played in the Scottish Premiership for years as evidence of it being a solid signing, but aside from a few good goals and performances, there's been very little good feeling towards the midfielder from Rangers fans over his 3 years at the club. The kicker for many was when it was revealed that Black had bet against Glasgow Rangers, in a match he was playing in! For most, this was an unforgivable act, and it's somewhat stunning that he was allowed to play again at Ibrox. Summing up everything that's been wrong at Rangers over the past few years, supporters can't wait to see the back of him. Having players your fans don't even like isn't the best way to encourage the vast fan base that Rangers have, because they can see through Ian Black like a thin coat of paint.
