5 Best Newcastle United Player Performances Of 2015

1. Georginio Wijnaldum Scores FOUR Against Norwich

Four goals. What more needs to be said? On a bizarre afternoon that could have seen either side win the game quite easily, Newcastle's new Dutch master stole the show and handed United their first league win of the season over fellow relegation candidates Norwich City. Not since Alan Shearer's five goal haul against Sheffield Wednesday in 1999 had a Magpie scored over three goals in a single game, and it's really hard to see when that feat will be repeated once more... Each of Gini's four finishes showed the former PSV Eindhoven man is one of the best goalscoring midfielders around. His first came courtesy of a precise, slide-rule finish into the bottom corner, before two headers saw him complete his hat-trick. He saved the best for last though as a piledriver from all of 22-yards flew over the head of hapless Canaries' stopper John Ruddy and into the far corner of the goal. Yes, it might have taken a slight nick on the way through, but it was destined for the postage stamp regardless.
