Goalkeeper, Yann Sommer was signed for £6.3 million at the start of the 2014-15 season and was a direct replacement for highly-rated Marc-André ter Stegen who moved to Barcelona. The shot-stopper has followed Ter Stegen's lead and is very much a pivotal part of Die Borussen's style of play. The 26-year-old is an excellent shot stopper and has pinpoint distribution skills. One thing for Newcastle fans to look out for is the way that Sommer patrols out of his box (in true Manuel Neuer style) in order to pick up loose balls and spark quick counter attacks. Tactically he links up very well with his centre-backs and also targets long switch-passes to the wingers from his area.
