5 Players Chelsea MUST Sign This Summer

Despite signing Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, Chelsea haven't been able to sufficiently replace Diego Costa since his departure. Bringing in a prolific front man such as Lewandowski or Mauro Icardi (my other option up front for them) would solve this problem.

Chelsea are in pole position to sign the Pole who has recently stated officially that he wants to leave Bayern Munich. He's consistently on big clubs' radar, and with 40 goals in 47 games this season couldn't have advertised his services as a proven goal-scorer much better.

One stumbling block for the move could be the fact that the powerful Polish striker is desperate to win the Champions League, a competition the Blues won't be competing in next season. However, if they could convince the 29-year-old of a structured plan to overhaul the team, it shouldn't be too hard to convince him that they will be contenders the following year.

Lewandowski is a player of exceptional calibre who needs a change and ticks all the boxes that Chelsea need. A consistent threat even with his back to goal, his unmatched work ethic and mentality could also help develop Morata whose been wasteful this season up front.

A forward line featuring Robert Lewandowski and Eden Hazard is enough to give any defender nightmares and he could be the marquee signing the Blues require to convince Hazard of their ambition for the forthcoming season. Furthermore, this transfer has been made all the more feasible thanks to Lewandowski's super agent.
