5 Players Most Likely To Leave Chelsea This Summer

5. Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian winger signed from Swiss club Basel for £13 million in the wake of Juan Mata's frankly traumatising move to Manchester United. There were doubts at the time as to whether the player was up to the required standard and while he has certainly shown flashes of brilliance here and there, his decision making and final product have proven highly inconsistent. That could simply be a result of him needing time to find his feet in a new, significantly tougher league, but the more damning fact is that Chelsea simply have no great use for him. Willian, Schurrle and Hazard are all vastly superior talents offering everything Salah does and more, while playing Ramires wide on the right offers the same athleticism with greater defensive cover. Salah felt like a bit of an emergency signing at the time and the fact it has only been about six months since he put pen to paper at Chelsea means he will in all likelihood stick around. Unfortunately for us and for him, his pre-season form was once again a mixture of the exquisite with the infuriating and he has yet to make either of Mourinho's matchday squads. Playing in a position where Chelsea already have an abundance of cover, Salah has the potential to be a terrific player but feels like he should've joined a middle-ranking club as a stepping stone before jumping all the way to the top.
