The name you've all come to see... It's hard to know what Mr Carr is more famous for... Being the father of comedian Alan or the man that has one of the finest (allegedly) eyes for talent in European football. Before taking over as Newcastle's chief scout in February 2010 following the acrimonious departure of Dennis Wise, and overseeing a French revolution on Tyneside, he both played and managed Northampton Town. After turning out for the Cobblers between 1962-68 - making 85 appearances - Carr managed the club between 1985-90. Under his guidance, he led Northampton to the old Fourth Division title in his second season before a number of his key players were sold and progress faltered. After another couple of poor seasons he was shown the door, going on to manage the likes of Blackpool, Kettering Town and Dagenham and Redbridge.
