A World Cup winner's medal is definitely the most popular answer to the question of what is missing from Messi's accomplishments. It's the biggest prize in football. If only he was born in the country he has made his home for about a decade. He would have had that little issue of winning the World Cup wrapped up back in South Africa. However that was not the case. Despite Argentina being a very strong side there are stronger international sides out there. The South American side won't be favourites in Brazil in 2014 but that isn't to say they won't have a decent chance of lifting the trophy. It will be vital that Messi has a good World Cup in two years time, not only for Argentina's sake but for his own. If he wins the lucrative prize it may well cement his place in history as the best footballer of all time.
