6 Reasons Why Man Utd Must Sign Arturo Vidal

1. He's Better Than Any Midfielder United Currently Have

But the main reason Manchester United needs to sign Arturo Vidal this summer is because he is currently better than any midfielder currently at their disposal. United's midfield woes have been there for all to see in recent times, with Marouane Fellaini failing to live up to his £27 million price tag and Tom Cleverley playing to badly that he didn't even make it onto England manager Roy Hodgson's World Cup plane. Meanwhile, Michael Carrick is nearing the end of his career and Darren Flether's recent and well-documented health problems scarcely make him a reliable squad member to call upon. The statistics show that Vidal is better than all four of United's central midfielders. The Chilean won 96 tackles last season, with Carrick, Cleverley and Fletcher coming out successful in just 43, 40 and six of theirs, respectively, while in the Premier League last season, Fellaini, Carrick, Cleverley and Fletcher managed just two goals between them compared to the 21 Vidal bagged in Serie A. It is clear that the Chilean would improve United's midfield, carry a constant goal threat, refuse to shirk in the heat of battle, restore faith among United's fan base, replace a club legend that has never been replaced and fight loyally for the cause, and these are the reason why Manchester United must sign Arturo Vidal.
