Alan Pardew: 4 Moments Of Madness From Newcastle Boss

1. Alan v Himself

Alan is a man of many words but one particular phrase landed him in a spot of hot water back in 2009. The former West Ham manager had had been invited onto the Match of the Day sofa, alongside Alan Hansen, to help dissect the weekend's football. Unfortunately Pardew managed to provide the programme's most memorable highlight. Whilst casting his keen eye over the Chelsea v Man City match he remarked that Michael Essien had 'absolutely raped' an opponent in a challenge. The comments unsurprisingly sparked a media storm and the BBC confirmed that they had received 35 complaints about the incident. With such an impressive back catalogue of madness other managers will really have to up their game in the coming months and years to keep up with Alan's work.
