Arsenal Transfers: 5 Players Arsene Wenger Could Spend Big On This Summer

4. Aleksandar Dragovic

Dragovic Keeping with the theme of Arsenal's brittle back four, it has been apparent for quite some time now that the Gunners need a new centre-half. Apparent to everyone that is, except Arsene Wenger. The likes of Sebastien Squillaci and Johan Djourou simply haven't performed during their time at the Emirates and the days when the likes of Martin Keown, Tony Adams, Sol Campbell and Lee Dixon marshalled a mean Arsenal defence now seem a million years ago. Arsenal have been linked with Basel defender Aleksandar Dragovic recently and the tough-tackling, all action centre-back is exactly the type of player the Gunners have been screaming out for for years. The 6ft 1€ defender would lend Arsenal a domineering presence in the air when dealing with set pieces and an imposing figure in the style of Campbell at the back. Alongside 6ft 6" Per Mertesacker, Arsenal would have a centre-back pair similar to Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in their prime.
