4. Ashley Williams
Arsenal have been crying out for a new centre-back for years, and it seems as though everyone except Arsene Wenger can see that the Gunners are startlingly light in this department. Especially now that Thomas Vermaelen has been ruled out until early September with a back injury. The ease of which Gabriel Agbonlahor surged through the Gunner's defence at the weekend truly exposed how brittle their back-line is. And one player Wenger could bring in as cover this summer to bolster it is Swansea City's returning Ashley Williams. The Wales international has just come back from a season-ending ankle injury and
is on Arsenal's radar. The 28-year-old handed the Gunners a boost in their pursuits last week by revealing
he wants to play Champions League football which is something the Londoners can offer - and in a World Cup year, too. And that might just make a move to Emirates Stadium appealing.
