Arsenal Transfers: 5 Realistic Signings For Arsene Wenger

3. Miralem Pjanic

Pjanic Arsenal came within a whisker of signing the Bosnian midfielder on transfer deadline day 2011, with the 23-year-old agreeing to a £9.5 million move from Lyon. On that same day, Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker signed for the Gunners, but Pjanic did not follow suit after instead performing a dramatic u-turn by joining Roma. Now, two years on, the midfielder is back on the Gunner's radar, but his market value has since soared to £20 million after a series of dazzling performances for the Italians. Arsenal's London rivals Spurs are also understood to be interested in the player's services, but the Gunners could have a better chance of landing him given they have such a hefty war chest to spend on players, and given their history with the midfielder.
