Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund: 5 More Memorable Champions League Finals

3. Barcelona 3-1 Manchester United (2011)

barca-manu Never before has one final seen such a dominant and efficient display from one team against another team of such high calibre. Manchester United came into this final on the back of a memorable 3-1 aggregate victory over Real Madrid, whilst Barca had destroyed Schalke 6-1 in their semi. This all seemed irrelevant though as Barca took the game by the scruff of the neck and made Manchester United look like a Sunday league team. Never before had Alex Ferguson€™s men been so outclassed on such a big stage. Barcelona took the lead in the 27th minute after a fine strike from Pedro only for Manchester United to snatch an equaliser against the run of play through Wayne Rooney. That was the closest Manchester United would come however as after the break Barcelona produced a breath-taking display of football and a wonderful goal from the tournament's top scorer Lionel Messi, and then David Villa, sealed Barcelona€™s victory. What makes this final stand out so much? The fact that is contains quite possibly the greatest team to have ever played in the Champions League.
