Celtic Transfers: 10 Signings To Rebuild The Champions

1. Hatem Ben Arfa - LOAN

Current Club: Newcastle Celtic have profited before from turmoil behind the scenes at Newcastle United. When Craig Bellamy very publicly fell out with Graeme Souness, the Scottish club picked up the prodigiously talented 25-year-old for half a season in which he scored 7 goals. If they're smart, they will go for the same effect before the end of the month by testing the North East club's resolve in Ben Arfa's situation. It is becoming increasingly obvious that Ben Arfa won't get anywhere near the first team, and his continued presence at the club is a thorn worrying Alan Pardew's side. He needs the Frenchman gone, and unfortunately there don't seem to be any real suitors for him, and limited opportunity to get him in the shop window. He is hugely talented, and the kind of player who could be brought in at number 10 to terrorise defences and earn himself a big contract somewhere else in the summer when his contract at Newcastle ends. And for Pardew, it would be a good out of sight, out of mind solution to the winger, who would probably score a hatful of goals in hoops. More importantly for his happiness, Ben Arfa thrives on being loved, and he's precisely the kind of player Celtic fans would immediately adore. Which of these options do you think Celtic should pursue most? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
