Chelsea: 4 Reasons David Moyes Is Perfect To Replace Rafa

1. He Knows How To Build A Balanced Squad

Finally, and probably most importantly of all, David Moyes knows how to build a squad that can compete in the Premier League in all areas. His Everton squad now is essentially the product of his entire reign at the club and he has said himself that it is the best squad of players that he has ever had at his disposal. Moyes understands the importance of having quality in all areas of the first team and also having quality in reserve and that is why he hasn't perhaps brought in as many players as the Everton fans would have liked over the years, but the players he has brought in have all been of sufficient quality to fit into his plans without overspending and build the excellent squad he has now; just imagine what he could do with Roman's millions. The reason why Everton have been so strong since the turn of the century is because of this very fact: David Moyes knows that he can trust his whole squad to perform when they are called upon and that they know that they are an integral part of his plans, even if they are sat on the bench. Take Victor Anichebe as a prime example of this - he has been nurtured by Moyes from a young age and though he does not start every game he has the sufficient quality and confidence, because of his inclusion in a strong squad of players, to come from the bench and make an impact when needed. David Moyes can not be praised highly enough for this. It remains to be seen whether or not David Moyes ends up at Stamford Bridge or elsewhere but with his contract ending at the end of this season it is more likely than not that he will leave Everton for a new challenge and a hunt for silverware. He has done a fantastic job at Everton so far and if he does leave them he will leave behind the right set up for a new man to jump in and carry on where he left off. Personally, I think he deserves the chance to manage at the very highest level and if Roman Abramovich uses the patience that he so often does not then Chelsea could be transformed by Moyes just like Everton have been.
