Chelsea Transfer News: £40 Million For Paul Pogba In January?

Express. Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen on signing the former Manchester United starlet when the transfer window reopens in January, as he looks to add yet another midfielder to his squad. He already has the likes of Frank Lampard, Oscar, Ramires and Willian in his side but there are doubts over the future of Juan Mata while new signing Marco van Ginkel will miss the rest of the season. And Mourinho has identified the 20-year-old as the ideal target as he looks to bring in a defensive midfielder this winter. The self-styled 'Special One' had been hoping to do business at £25 million but has been told by the Italian champions to stump up almost double that amount. Juventus could be willing to do business in January however as they look to fund a £15 million move for Aston Villa's Christian Benteke. But the Blues are likely to face stiff competition with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Real Madrid all showing an interest in the Frenchman in the past. Pogba has two-and-a-half years left on his contract at Juventus Stadium but has refused to commit to the new deal his club have recently offered him.
