Chelsea Transfers - 5 Flops Jose Mourinho Has To Ditch This Summer

2. Demba Ba

The most worrying aspect of the Chelsea squad that failed to win a single trophy this season is their strike force. The Blues' three main strikers, Samuel Eto'o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, scored just the 19 league goals between them last term, which is a truly pitiful return. Ba scored five of those, and simply has not been able to replicate the kind of form while at Newcastle that persuaded Chelsea to sign him in the first place. Ba scored 13 Premier League goals in what turned out to be his last half-a-season at St James' Park in 2012, joining Chelsea in January the following year. At Stamford Bridge however, the Senegal striker has only hit the back of the net seven times, and has been a tremendous flop since making the move from the north east. With Diego Costa set to arrive from Atletico Madrid this summer, it is difficult to imagine Ba staying around for too much longer.
