1. Gonzalo Higuain
Gonzalo Higuain appears to be restless at Real Madrid, last summer he was expected to move away from the Bernebeu but a transfer never materialised. However, he is still unhappy with being 2nd choice behind Karim Benzema and could turn to Chelsea in pursuit of more first team action. Perhaps Jose Mourinho would be open to parting with the 25 year old knowing that he might be Chelsea manager in 6 months time? But that is another article altogether! What is certain though is that "El Pipito" (who comes up with these nicknames?) is an accomplished centre forward with a fine goalscoring record to his name who would be a wise buy for Roman Abramovich, sorry, Rafa Benitez. Higuain would be pricy at £35 million and Real Madrid would have to be confident in securing another striker, preferably Sergio Aguero or Radamel Falcao, before they would let him go halfway through the season. Should Chelsea sign one of these players in January? Or would they be better off sticking with Torres? Let us know in the comments.
