Chelsea Transfers: 5 Questions That Mourinho Must Address This Summer

3. Will Chelsea Sign A More Prolific Striker?

One teething issue that is yet to be ironed out fully at Chelsea is their striking options - a situation that has remained the same since Fernando Torres' record breaking move from Liverpool, and his subsequently uninspiring form. The previous winter window saw Demba Ba come in from Newcastle in a bid to ease the goal scoring responsibilities on out-of-form Torres, and then the summer saw the arrival of well travelled Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o on free transfer, but still Chelsea look light, especially in comparison to title challengers like Man City, who have an embarrassment of available options. However, Chelsea are still missing that prolific striker who is capable of goals in every game, and that has seen them explore further options, with Wayne Rooney strongly linked with the Blues throughout the last two transfer windows. That has so far proved fruitless, and another name linked has been the prolific Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa. Costa has been in impeccable form for Atletico Madrid this term and has played a massive part in steering them to the summit of La Liga so far this term. He has 20 La Liga goals to his name currently and there are suggestions that Chelsea could look at a deal with Atletico which could see Thibaut Courtois move to Madrid on a permanent basis. Given his superb form this season, Costa will undoubtedly be a highly sought after commodity in the summer, especially if he makes the World Cup squad for his home country, Brazil.
