1. Andriy Shevchenko
Okay, I will put my hands up, this one is quite an obvious, if not predictable selection, but considering Chelsea paid £30 million for the Ukrainian's services, there's really very few other Mourinho signings who have flopped this bad. He arrived at Stamford Bridge with fervent anticipation, at long last Chelsea had signed a world class striker capable of leading them to glory on all fronts, sweeping aside all opposition. His 28-goal season for AC Milan in his final year at the San Siro promised as much, but like everyone else on this list, he completely failed to deliver. He only managed nine league goals throughout his two season stay in West London, which works out at around £4,731,555 per goal. Considering he was so prolific at Milan, banging in 173 goals in 296 games at the San Siro, it is easy to see why Chelsea took a big gamble, but boy did they end up with egg on their face. Only Fernando Torres, at £50 million, has cost the club more than Shevchenko, who will forever be remembered as the worst signing Mourinho ever made. Do you think Jose Mourinho will return to Chelsea? What do you make of the signings he made during his first spell? Let us know in the comment section below.
