Chelsea Transfers: Predicting Jose Mourinho's Buys & Starting 11

2. Joao Moutinho

It is quite a well known fact that Mourinho likes to surround himself with Portuguese or Spanish-speaking players at his new club, as he did throughout his first stint at Chelsea when he brought in the likes of Ricardo Carvalho, Tiago and Paulo Ferreira back in 2005. He is likely to do the same again for his second stint at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea have been linked with Porto's Joao Moutinho in recent weeks. The Portuguese national has reportedly put the Blues on red alert by telling the club he intends to quit in the summer, and he would fit like a glove at Stamford Bridge considering the £20 million-valued midfielder has been tipped as the natural heir to the soon-to-be departing Lampard. A leader both on and off the pitch and one of the best players in his position right now, Moutinho possesses many of the same qualities as Lampard in his prime and his arrival would ease the Englishman's inevitable departure from the club.
