Since the sale of Rafael van der Vaart, Spurs have lacked a player with creative qualities to link up between the midfield and the striker. Spurs do have players who can create chances - Chadli and Lennon from the wings, Paulinho driving forward and, when he plays, Gareth Bale can create assists in abundance - but van der Vaart could create a chance out of nothing and find a pass nobody else could (to be fair, Luka Modric could do the same thing but from a deeper position). With the transfer window still open, Spurs are linked to the likes of Willian, Miralem Pjanic, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela and these are the kind of players that they should be looking to sign to fill the gap left by van der Vaart's departure last year. At Selhurst Park, they certainly looked threatening at times, but a player of that nature certainly would not go amiss. What did you learn from Crystal Palace Vs Spurs?
