Crystal Palace New Manager: 5 Candidates To Replace Ian Holloway

3. Martin O'Neill

Martin O'Neill is also looking for a new job after being dismissed by crisis-club Sunderland earlier this year. The Northern Irishman was sacked by the Black Cats in March after an eight-game run of five losses and three draws, leaving the club teetering above the drop zone. However, there were many at the time who felt the North East club's decision to part ways with the likable coach was harsh, and indeed his successor, Paolo Di Canio, didn't exactly do a much better job. Having managed Sunderland, O'Neill also spent time at Aston Villa, and is heralded as one of the Midland club's best ever managers after nearly guiding them into Europe as well as reaching the Villan's first final in 10 years in 2010 against Manchester United in the League Cup. Also a three time Scottish Premier League winner with Celtic, O'Neill has the pedigree to succeed at Palace, and would surely relish a return to the Premier League's dugouts.
