1. Tony Pulis
The two-time Stoke City boss is the hot favourite to be named as the new Crystal palace manager, according to the
Metro. Pulis has been out of work since being axed by Stoke earlier this year and though his style of play may make him an unpopular choice among supporters, he would make the Eagles difficult to break down as he did with the Potters. Palace are in freefall at the moment and need organisation, and there's little questioning the 55-year-old former Portsmouth coach could achieve this. He's also been known to get a side out of a relegation scrap in the past. Upon being named Stoke boss for the first time in November 2002, Pulis found himself staring at relegation into the old Second Division, and things were looking bleak right up until the final day of the 2002-03 season. However, a 10 win over Reading at the Britannia Stadium kept the side up, an achievement Pulis rates as one of his
best achievements in management. Palace need the hard working, battling spirit Pulis brings to the table, and during this time of disarray, could benefit from appointing a coach who knows how to wriggle out of difficult situations.
