Much to the pleasure of Everton fans, according to Oddschecker, the club's odds of finishing above their bitter rivals have been slashed to 9/2 because of the signing of Romelu Lukaku. And this seems a feasible bet. Liverpool have lost 30 goals from their tally of last season after their star Uruguayan left to join Barcelona for £70million. Whilst they still have Daniel Sturridge and are making a wealth of dealings in the summer transfer window, they are putting a lot of risk into their new season. They face the pressure of performing better than last year, and again face the problem of player integration. It seems that Liverpool came as close as they are going to get to the Premier League title last season before they slipped up. Everton face no such pressure, they have a developing squad and an extremely talented manager in Roberto Martinez, who will surely be given the time to develop the squad into a top quality side. Lukaku may be the new Suarez of the Premier League, if not now, then possibly in the future. And with Barkley just behind him, they could become an unstoppable Premier League force.
