The former Barcelona and Real Madrid player has had heaps of praise lavashed upon him this season following his debut season at the club, and has earned plenty of admirers thanks his ability to get Swansea playing attractive, free-flowing football. He guided the club to the Capital One Cup earlier this season, winning the Swans' first piece of silverware and taking them to their first cup final since 196364 in the process. The Dane has also proven he, like Moyes, can successully operate with limited resources and his purchase of Michu from Rayo Vallecano for £2 million last summer is widely considered the bargain of the season. He also has an extensive knowledge of European football thanks to his long playing career in La Liga and could help Everton seek out the cut-price gems so successfully pursued at Goodison by Moyes over the last 12 seasons.
