Fantasy Football: 10 Players Who Are Ruining Everyone's Teams

1. Olivier Giroud

The Expectation Last year, according to Metro, the Frenchman scored half of midfield maestro Santi Cazorla's points, scoring 11 league goals and chipping in with 4 assists. Despite that relatively middling form, and his not hugely impressive score last year, Giroud is currently valued at £8.8 with Fantasy Premier League, the 11th highest in the rankings. Or in other words, Giroud was way too expensive to really consider, when placed alongside higher scorers from last term: his points from last term would mean he wasn't considerable in the upper echelons of strikers - along with Suarez and Van Persie, for instance - or in the lower reaches of potentially high-scoring forwards who could play alongside the more expensive strikers. The Problem Giroud is on fire at the minute, hitting the top of the points chart with goals for Arsenal, despite lower expectations that couldn't have been helped by Arsene Wenger's high-profile pursuit of Luis Suarez this summer. Giroud's early form has shaken it up massively, making his £8.8 pricetag look like a bargain (especially when Suarez is worth £14) and sending players scrabbling for costly transfers. If he's going to continue this form against expectations - and the introduction of Ozil should help if he is going to get the nod as the player to be the point of the attacking arrow with the German behind him - then Giroud is a no-brainer, but it's a big concern, looking at last season, that he will be able to keep the form up.
