Fantasy Premier League Tips: 17 Best Opening Day Performances Analysed
12. Dejan Lovren (Southampton) - 9 points
The Croatian international defender moved from Lyon to the Saints back in June, and had a great start to his league career, winning the 3 bonus, and keeping a clean sheet in the process. He's likely to play most of the season if he can keep fit, as he's tall and a dominant defender, as he demonstrated last season against Tottenham. Whether they'll keep any more clean sheets is a moot point, but he's definitely going to be a regular on yesterday's showing. Chances are there'll be cheaper regulars to choose from in Southampton, but he's not an expensive outlay at £5 million.
11. Pajtim Kasami (Fulham) - 10 points
The first of two bolts from the blue yesterday. Pajtim Kasami is a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, signed from Palermo way back in July 2011 for a reported 5 million. In his first season at Fulham, he barely played, playing 269 minutes according to EPL records. Last season, he was farmed out on loan in February having played just 24 minutes all season. The Swiss midfielder played the full match, scoring a goal, and getting 2 bonus points. Perhaps he's going to play full-time this season? It's too early to tell really, but it's a promising start from the youngster. Add him to your watch-lists anyway.
